Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

All my furry partners. I won’t name names because of passwords, but these animal people who loved me and I loved, I can never forget any of them. Cats, Dogs, and Guinea Pigs (little dogs really). Isn’t love grand?

RIP to all my good dogs over the years.

Daisy, border collie mix - lost to cancer in 2018 age 9
Rocky, beagle/cocker mix- lost to old age 2022 age 14
Leia, true mutt (Heinz 57) - lost to cancer 2022 age 8

Losing a pet is the worst part of owning them, but the years of happiness are worth it. After Leia died it took almost 2 years before we were ready for another dog, but we ended up with 2 basset hound puppies. They’ll be 2 next month.

In loving memory of my 2 beagles, Sadie (white) and Pepper (tri-colour).
They’re buried not too far from where I live, in a nice little shaded area I pass by every day.
I am eternally grateful for the wonderful joy they brought to my life.
Missed and loved every day.

I didn’t think I would be posting here for a long time.

But my cat died unexpectedly this morning. There weren’t any signs that she was sick. She was playful and happy last night. She was only 13.

She was on the couch cleaning herself like any other morning. A few minutes later I come back in the room and she was on the floor and already gone.

Do me a favour and don’t ignore your pets tonight.

ugly95 The unexpected ones hurt the most. So sorry for your loss.

Let’s not forget that pets are more than dogs and cats. Over the years, I’ve lost parrots (they can live for close to 30 years) and a few pet rabbits. Many years ago, I lost a pet iguana. Each hurts in a different way.

For our family, our dogs were not just pets, but thought of as extended members of our family.

We would spare no expense at the vet to treat/heal them (thankfully we always took out pet insurance).
