Dks01 I think it’s Switzerland that picked another plane (can’t remember off the top of my head whether it was the Rafale or the Gripen) and after a visit from the U.S. shortly after the announcement was made, they switched to the F-35. It probably wasn’t bribes in that specific case, just U.S. government pressure.
I was watching a panel on Swiss TV in French a couple of months ago, and a government official involved in the fighter procurement was pesting about exploding costs, not only for the F-35 itself, but also they’ll need to lengthen their runways (plus, of course, they need new hangars).
