patlaw I’m actually happy this is happening. It will be good to be rid of VOIPo once and for all. They can’t carry voip.ms’ water.
1) This sort of thing has bugged me for a long time.
There are not a lot of smaller independent VoIP providers.
It’s harder and harder to compete against big providers such as 8×8, cable company phone services, and simply the shift towards cellular.
“Voipo” by their careless and selfish actions (failing to respond to all the meltdown of many months!) has helped to trash the reputation of the whole sector.
2) On Reddit, several people posted that they had filed FCC complaints.
3) FCC notification rule OR NOT, how could ANYONE think a few days of notice was enough?
4) “Voipo” owes money to people. Not only anyone who was double/triple billed, but ALSO all the regular customers who are losing months of service that they paid for. So the QUESTION is, did Voip.MS pay any money to “Voipo” for sending all the customers over.
If so, “Voipo” should use that money to help pay what they owe customers.
(Yes, I know that’s a utopian fantasy).
