DWDM Everyone in my circle who went to Voip.ms is loving the service, the voice codec quality and the mysterious disappearance of constant spam calls, so they are doing something right.
Speculation:
A great deal of spam calling is randomly generated.
However some spam is based on “lists”, maybe lists of older folks, or lists of people who have bought certain products or subscriptions, or people who seem to be good targets for whatever reason.
When a number is ported, EVEN TO the same CLEC, it for some purposes is considered a disconnect.
And being a disconnect, the spam may stay down until you get on the spammers’ list instead with a reconnect when the number is ported.
It’s like the age-old question of whether or not you die and are reborn if you go through a Star Trek transporter.
