After a month of trouble shooting with them, I am finally up and running. Is Omar G. the only customer service rep? Or maybe once a ticket is opened, one rep has to see it all the way through. It was agonizing to try what Omar recommended, email him the results and wait several days to a week for a response. And then do it again. I get that the transition of VOIPO customers is a unique situation. But I’m not sure VOIP.ms is really staffed to support their new customer base.
One of the following two tweaks resulted in me being able to receive inbound calls: changing the SIP port to 5080 or resetting the main SIP password again (had previously reset, following the password standard).
For a couple of weeks, I could receive inbound calls, but not place outbound calls. Assigning a caller ID resulted in outbound calls being enabled.
Maybe I missed one of these in following the instructions… But I think I followed them pretty meticulously.
I was ready to pull the plug on a home line. But I guess I’ll stick with them for a bit.
