To add to MacLeech, summary of the origional plan of deployment (no idea if its what is still planned)
Phase 1: High-Split Architecture
Coverage: 15% of Charter’s footprint.
Technology: Implements high-split architecture to increase usable spectrum to 1.2 GHz.
Speed: Enables 2 Gbps downstream and 1 Gbps upstream speeds.
Phase 2: DAA with Remote PHY and vCMTS
Coverage: 50% of Charter’s footprint.
Technology: Utilizes distributed access architecture (DAA) with remote PHY technology and a vCMTS.
Speed: Enables 5 Gbps download speeds.
Phase 3: DOCSIS 4.0, DAA, and High-Split
Coverage: Remaining 35% of Charter’s footprint.
Technology: Implements DOCSIS 4.0, DAA, and a high-split that increases spectrum to 1.8 GHz.
Speed: Supports up to 10 Gbps downstream speeds.
