smccloud Would have made more sense to run it right along the back of the building rather than way out back if you ask me.
They try to keep it out of areas people walk to prevent tripping.
The upgrade was probably an amp module swapped and signal balancing. They probably found FM ingress after they did the change, from the section of cable they bypassed with the temp. The 1Ghz taps and passive components don’t need to be changed for a while. They don’t cut the signal off right at 1Ghz, it’s just they weren’t qualified for anything higher but it’ll pass it.
It’s like using cat 5 for 1gb or higher. Not spec’d for it, but it’ll work +95% of the time without a problem.
