smccloud Yeah I don’t expect the speeds to be turned up right away. They have a lot of nodes to hit up still. I’ve heard from another friend nearby that Spectrum has been working in their neighborhood all week. They’ve had multiple multi-hour outages overnight, as well as a few hiccups during the day.
My friend is served from the same headend/hub site, although their area did just get Fios in the past year. I assume Spectrum is trying to stop the bleeding, as they’ve lost a good number of Internet customers over the past year. So High Split work is getting done pronto, before Fiber has a chance to come out to my specific area.
I know 2Gbps introduction follows the implementation of High Split. Rochester, NY has been running symmetrical speeds for the better part of several months at a minimum.
