MacLeech Fiber providers typically don’t have promo pricing and ballooning pricing, that’s mostly a cable thing. Most of the fiber providers have flat pricing, or at most it goes up by $10 after 1 year or something. Fiber has very low churn. That’s why the new CEO of Verizon is moving focus to fiber. Customers are very satisfied with it, the price doesn’t double after a year, and churn is low.
Not like Comcast’s old pricing, which was like $40 for 2 years, then it became $85.
Wireless is different since coverage matters a lot more, most people don’t bounce between wireless providers. I wouldn’t even consider AT&T or T-Mobile because they don’t have good coverage where I am or where I travel.
Comcast has $30 NOW Prepaid, but they make it difficult for existing customers to switch to that, so many are deciding to just switch providers entirely.
If the rumors about NOW being discontinued are true, my guess is they’ll just introduce a $30 postpaid tier like Charter has, which current customers could easily switch to.
I’m happy with NOW for $30 and don’t plan to switch unless forced off it.
