Started DSLR about 2002-2003 or so when I was looking for good deals and used to hang out over in the Microsoft and the Software forums mostly. I remember Bobb filling the Users find hot deals forum.. and every post being from that day.

I think I joined in Sept, 2002. Maybe it was 2000. For years and years, DSLReports was the first page I went to every day. I was still going there daily up until it ended.

Taking a break after getting in trouble twice since the launch

I'm going to take a break from this site after getting in trouble twice for what I feel are beyond mundane issues. I have offered to sponsor this joint and I've spread the word on multiple platforms and blogs. Call me sensitive, but I'm just too old to be lectured after less than two weeks. I'm beginning to understand the apprehension some old-timers feel about fitting in with the new mods.

DSLR had long ago (7 years) suspended the News forum, and the Pub was often more like a "saloon" than a "salon". And the Rojo and Azul forums had been locked.

And the times right now are more polarized than anyone might have imagined even a month ago.

So I can understand if the management felt it best to install a fire suppression system.

I have no idea what they said to you---I've probably pushed the line here a few times or come close so I'll probably be called to the principal's office at some point.

I won't be happy if that happens either but I'll try to understand.

I hope you'll continue to lurk and consider coming back.

By the way, I'll take "lecturing" over "ghosting" any day. 🙂

I think everyone had different opinions on different mods, it depends on if they moderated you or not in a lot of cases 🙂

Donoreo I agree, but anytime I got moderated, I felt like I most likely deserved it, because I said stuff in the heat of the moment, so I didn't get too offended.

Same here, and it’s usually for the same reason. At one point, I even offered an unprovoked apology for being out of line. That apology wasn’t even acknowledged by the person I apologized to, but it was by another member.
