It might be some people do not like change and their was no notice of the DSL Reports shutdown giving people time to say goodbye or looking for alternative sites to hang out at. I do agree people need to be patient since this site is new and functions differently which means it will take time to get used to.
My wife has been telling [me] for 40 years that I don't like change, and [she is absolutely right].
I don't like change.
So many changes lately.
My affiliated hospital went through a big merger, my professional school went through a big merger, in New York a major radio station that was around for almost 100 years (WCBS 880) was forcibly shut down in favor of a jock-talk station, and there are lots and lots of big changes now because an old guy named Joe had to retire.
This all pales in comparison to all the changes that have taken place in Los Angeles (and elsewhere).
But change happens, it's part of life, part of adapting and moving on.
I'm almost 70, but I try my best to adapt and move forward.
I feel bad for those who cannot.
