That is my plan. Once I am on the 0 nicotine, I will be able to slowly cut back the vape. I actually without really trying I been slowly cutting down on the vape.
Some people I know was able to just quit cold turkey. I can’t do cold turkey, I wish I could. I do believe this will get me off of cigarettes. I feel really positive with this quit, then I have with any other times that I have tried to quit.
Pretty soon I will also be nicotine free. Once I am doing the 0 nicotine, I will be getting some of the coffee stirs with the hole in it and I can chew and suck on that as well. My plan is to stop vaping.
I also believe there are other things in a cig that you become addicted to. I know that there is the physical dependency however, I still believe there are more things in that cig that you become addicted to than just the nicotine. I will still going through withdrawal even with the vape for the first week.
RDAnderson So, for the first month I stopped drinking and used Nicorette, eventually using their spray which actually worked by killing my desire to smoke. All in all, I found it quite easy. I would stop the vaping if I was you. You need to get over sucking on something.
The very first time that I tried to quit, I was able to stop for a year. I used the patches. I had to use tegaderms to keep the patches on. Back then the only medications available were the patches and Zyban. I was in my early 20’s when I quit the first time.
I tried the Zyban but it didn’t work for me at all. It just didn’t help with the cravings at the time. However, I did quit with the patches. I ended up getting stressed out and this one time, the stress was too much and I lit that cig. If I didn’t light that cig I probably still not have smoked.
However, I did go back to smoking and since then the patches just won’t work on me. I also used the gum and the lozenges but my issue was that I was able to stop smoking but I got myself stuck on the gum and lozenges.
I just couldn’t stop using the gum and lozenges. My weight jumped up and when my A1c jumped to 8.9 I ended up smoking again.
Now that I am on insulin and my diabetes is kindof under control I decided that it is time to quit. My health will probably just tank at some point from smoking. When I was laying down to go to sleep I could hear my lungs wheezing when I was trying to sleep. Sometimes the sound was pretty bad.
Now that I switch from smoking to vape temporarily, my lungs are doing better. My asthma is much more under control. I gotta make an appointment with my lung doctor for the asthma to see how the lungs are doing as I am doing this transition to stop smoking.
However, I do not want to smoke a real cigarette now. I don’t plan on smoking a real cig again.
