I watched Light Shop
It’s a Korean show (dubs were available), 8 episodes most were under 50 minutes.
It’s kind of a weird one. The first 4 episodes kind of leaned more towards horror and supernatural. Then the last 4 pretty much drop the horror aspect and leans more towards an emotional drama with supernatural aspects.
They do that by making the first 4 episodes unclear on what’s going on and then revealing everything at the end of the 4th episode and explaining it in the 5th.
The premise of the show is hard to describe without spoilers. I guess on the basic level, some people start seeing monsters that appear as regular people but then occasionally appear unnatural in some way. Even that doesn’t explain much.
It did rely on my least favourite horror trope: Everyone was dead or dying all along and everything they were seeing was either in their head or some form of purgatory. But I think it actually managed to pull it off, and it was that tone shift in the show that made it work.
I’m not sure what I’m going to go through next. Maybe Dept. Q
