Update on June 26, 2025: Plans have reverted to 300, 500, 1000, 2000. But, now the gateway and unlimited data are included. Bye bye 1.2TB usage cap. Chuck99 The Broadband Facts list the specifics of the plans normal offer and doesn’t outline any promotional offer. The 5 years with free unlimited data and gateway is a promo. Personally I’ll be sticking with Prepaid for the time being since 200Mbps is more than enough for our entire family and $18 more per month for 400Mbps would be a waste. But if we ever get midsplit I’ll revisit that decision. Change my mind, Comcast.

A few years ago I started with 400Mbps & over time got bumped up to 2100. For my everyday use I can’t tell any difference between 400 & 2100. The very high speed only makes a difference when I download a large file, something like a new copy of Windows 10/11. My friends share the same experience. I’ll probably go with 400 when I renew & save $50/month. Of course YMMV.

Yeah, I started with the “Performance” 16/2 tier 13 years ago and since then through speed boosts and promos, I was up to the “Superfast” 800/20 tier last year. With the latest annual price hikes last year I decided to downgrade to the “Connect More” 300/20 tier to save some bucks. Didn’t notice much of a change.

Now, with the latest speed boost, my Connect More tier is up to 400/35 (actually 480/42 with the 20% over-provisioning).

[My area hasn’t been upgraded to mid-split yet. 🙁 ]

started on Comcast originally at Extreme 105 (forget what the upload was years ago lol)

Then up to Extreme 300 or 350 whatever it was freely upgraded to back around 2018-2019 lol)

Then was on 600/20 for a while,

Then to qualify for XB7 Gateway back in 2020, accepted the Reddit reps upgrade offer to Gigabit Extra, kept that til next renewal time 12 months later. And Then went with Extreme 900/20, which eventually became Gigabit Anyways in Central area.

Honestly i was fine on 600 Speed, probably should’ve just stayed with that in the past lol.

Think for now will stick with Gigabit til this 2 year promo is over, then decide what speed i really need

Same. I’m up in September and have no need for the 2100 and the $95 or $105 or whatever they change their minds to a five months from now.

Andyross Same exact tier for us, but ours was Road Runner Cable at time but was soon bought by Comcast. Thinking the year was 2000 or 2001? I remember there was a budget tier with Comcast available as late as 2008 or so that was 768/128Kbps for $19.99/month competing with entry level DSL. Doubt anyone would still be grandfathered on one of those old starter tiers but who knows.

Yeah, I remember “PowerBoost.” It was a neat way of giving a brief, higher speed when transferring small files, up to 10 MB down and 5 MB up.

They’re are disclosing the current plans, in a consumer friendly way, really hard to say what the market will bear in 5 years, but MORE likely to be more competition at that point.
Just remember your end of contract date and shop around before hand to judge if it’s a reasonable ask at that point.

Anyone else no longer seeing “Connect” 150Mbps tier? It is nowhere to be found for my selection of offerings on their website. The current tiers do make more sense if that is the case, since it goes 100, 200 (both prepaid) then 400, 600, 1100 and 1300+. I can’t tell you the number of people I know paying for higher than gig speeds but without the hardware on the PCs to support anything past 940Mbps.

I think they got rid of it entirely.

My parents were on the 150Mb tier and were automatically bumped up to the 400/35 tier.

smilingbob I have seen the 150 tier disappear and reappear many times. Right now it is showing for me on my upgrade page but not showing on the 5 year new user offer page.

The website does not always show all available tiers, nor all actually available changes to an existing account (actually, in my experience, the website has never offered everything you could do in person/chat/call). To see if the tier is even still offered check the rate card for your location (mine still shows a Connect tier, although whether I could walk into a store and actually get it I do not know).
