badtlc4 I wonder if cutting upload speeds is partly to help fully differentiate between mid-split and X-class? The X-Class plans are a bit more expensive and in order to justify those costs there probably need a bit more differentiation, is my guess.
That would be dumb if true, but I wouldn’t put it past marketing to make a decision like that.
I just hope the engineers are setting the speed tiers, not marketing.

bigcoda Xfinity’s not going to offer both a Mid-Split and symmetrical package at the same address.
Well if you currently have a 3.0 or 3.1 modem, they won’t force you to upgrade to 4.0.
Low-split and mid-split will continue to work, even when your node is upgraded to 4.0.
They have lots of XB3/6/7/8s out there that will continue to work also. They won’t ship current customers an XB10 automatically if you don’t ask for one or upgrade your speed to symmetrical.
