Here is a Discussion (thread) that I'm following.
At the top is the Gold Star to show the tag is being followed. To the top right it also says Following for this thread.
I think you aren't seeing anything in your followed discussions is because you haven't followed the discussion in the Tag. Make sense?
And last, once the thread is followed, you may have to change the Tag following from lurking to following based on what I found early this morning, way up in this thread hahaha.
