g121 Yeah. But that doesn’t exist in a vacuum – as I said, if you never talked to your educators outside of a class context you missed half the point of going to university. If you’re motivated, there’s nothing you can learn in class that you can’t also learn on your own from a book, and plenty of people have done exactly that.
And while it probably does happen that a prof or TA might have a political opinion that’s somewhat controversial and which gets expressed at an inappropriate time, profs aren’t “brainwashing” students. In point of fact, I literally never had a prof express something like that inappropriately during my entire time at university. Now department parties, protests, student union elections, hell, over coffee in the library – that was an entirely different discussion.
