Burns went to Colorado. 1 year at $4M. He’s 40 and never won it, so he’s probably taking one last shot.

Orlov went to San Jose for 2 years at $6.5M.

And, the biggest signing would be Ehlers going to Carolina. 6 years at $8.5M. I wonder how long until he hates playing for them.

Vancouver trades Silovs to Pittsburgh for a Stillman and a 2027 4th.

Chase Stillman was a former first rounder, but mostly only notable for his bloodlines.

I thought Vancouver was pretty high on Silovs. It seems like goalies are hard to trade now, but this seems like they gave him away.

digitalfutur yeah I thought one of them was going to get some sort of punishment…. But unfortunately her story was all over the place and the judge didn’t believe it.
There were rumors of her boyfriend put her up to it and her mother was behind the whole thing too…. Pretty crazy situation.

bjlockie Yes but they’re still rich enough that it won’t affect them if they don’t play again….and they have to take some responsibility for what happened, regardless of how old and stupid they were.

He was surprised no one there spoke up and said it is a bad idea.

I’m watching cross country checkup and a caller said probably a lot of Canadians are disappointed with the verdict.
The reasoning for the verdict seems logical to me.
I guess I am in the minority.
Why did she put herself in that situation?
Why did the players put themselves in that situation?
I really hope the NHL lets them play again.
The accusation was bad enough.

The reasons are pretty obvious…..age,booze,peer pressure,drunken horny idiots not thinking of consequences and her willingness.

As for later, it’s been rumoured that her mother or boyfriend pushed her to lay charges….who knows? 😱

ZZZZZZZ At the end of the day she lost for one reason only - she was “betting on” the “I was too drunk to consent” defense and all of the evidence was to the contrary - there was security cam footage, cell phone videos, and numerous not-in-the-case witnesses who all said she wasn’t intoxicated and had barely had anything to drink that day. There was enough proof that she consented to and wanted to play the puck bunny role that night, and that was enough to shoot a hole in her whole case - as it made all of her accusations and testimony “suspect” as one lie begot another and the whole trial went from “he said / she said” to “he said / she lied” and that was the end of it. Did she necessarily definitively consent to what she did with all of them? Maybe not - but she dug her hole with her other falsehoods enough that there wasn’t enough credibility left for criminal convictions.
