ZZZZZZZ Hockey isn't like basketball, where a superstar can improve your team instantly. As the Anaheim Angels how it worked out with Mike Trout. Heck they even had Ohtani and wasted both of their talents.

He's got the skills but, he's acting like he's playing pond hockey. The Blackhawks need to bring a vet in to teach the kid some maturity and teamwork. Tazer and/or Kaner might fit the bill.

Last I checked, this is the only hockey thread and there is plenty of team partisanship going on about teams and the teams of several nations.

Yes, I'm biased towards the Blackhawks, but I also like and follow the Rangers, Sharks, Orcas and the Leaves of Maple (the last name twist is a running joke with a bud in the GTA).

I can’t believe how far the Panthers have come so fast. There was a 20 year stretch(Until about 5 years ago) where they never made the playoffs and South Florida was hockey purgatory. But now everybody wants to come here.🤯😀

Since you Canadians love coming down here, aren’t the Panthers sort of a Canadian team?

Yeah the Rat to Panthers does hurt. But they throw rats on the ice there. so i dunno lol.

Anyway the Leafs pick up a decent 3C (Laughton from Philly) and a right shot D (Carlo from Bruins) to hopefully play with Rielly.

The price was steep, Leafs dont have 1st round picks to 2028 lol.

But they had to do something since Domi was a failure at 3C, and they needed a boost on D.

If they don't win the division, its gonna be another tilt with the Panthers or Lightning. Ugh. This playoff format sucks.

It's been over 10 years with this playoff format and I still hate that in the first round you have 4 teams in the entire playoffs that are either 2nd/3rd in their division automatically get eliminated. Not that they got surprised by a plucky team seeded much lower. No, they are just gone, and you erase so much of the best talent from going further in the playoffs.

Yeah i'm kinda yelling at the cloud because the Leafs have been affected by this so much.

On one hand, I agree with you. On the other, seeding doesn’t really matter for the NHL playoffs. Lower seeds in the NHL playoffs are way successful than in other sports. 8 seeds get to the finals pretty regularly(I think), and 8 seeds have won a few times.

He even opened an Ice Rink in Santa Rosa California, so us kids out there at least had exposure to and a place to play and practice Ice Hockey.
