Surprised at this as the prevailing thought was the Blackhawks needed to get some good, younger NHL, not prospect, players who can play/grow with Bedard. While a 1st round draft pick (albeit a low one) is nice, it provides a future, not now, potential .. whereas a somewhat struggling Bedard needs a better, younger supporting cast now.
