For former/current Start.ca users with a @start.ca email address the parent company Telus has begun to move its customers from the existing system and over to a google powered platform. Telus already uses google for its own email services so its logical they wish to fold up all legacy hardware and software so they can operate a more mono-tech platform.

To provide our customers with the best possible email experience, Start.ca is in the process of transitioning your email >account to a TELUS platform powered by Google. This transition will be completed in the coming months. There is no >additional cost. We will send out instructions on how to manage your email in the future.
What This Upgrade Means for You

Security and Reliability: With email in enterprise-grade Google Workspace, you will benefit from enhanced security and >reliability.

Privacy Assured: Your data will be under the governance of TELUS’ stringent privacy protocols. You will not receive >ads >on your email (unlike the publicly available Gmail) and you will continue to get support directly from TELUS. For >more >details, see telus.com/privacy.

Email Address: Your existing email address will be migrated to the new platform and you will continue receiving mail >under your existing email address.

Email existing in your Start.ca account: Your historical emails will remain safe and fully accessible throughout the >migration process. Detailed migration instructions and required actions will be communicated to you in advance of >the transition date.
What Happens Next

We will send detailed instructions as that date nears.

Once you have logged in, you will have an option to import your historical emails. Instructions on this will follow.
