So my 1 year 1000/100 $50 promo expired yesterday. Price doubled from $50 to $100 a few weeks back once the new billing month started.
Prior to the promo expiring, I tried a retail store, Reddit and the Schedule a Call to cancel via Chat to get the 1000/100 for 5 years for $50 like all new customers can. Each time, I was offered 5 years for $105 minus $10 for autopay, so $95 for 5 years.
Today, after it expired, the website offered the same rates as pre expiration. $75/85/100/100 for the four tiers. One year only offer.
I tried again for new customer pricing with Reddit this morning. Was again offered the exact same $95 for 5.
No thanks.
Went to the store and cancelled, returning my XB8. No attempt was made to save me. In and out in 3 minutes. Got a receipt for the returned modem.
By the time I got home 20 minutes later, and using xfinity.com without logging in, my address no longer even showed my old account, and it offered me full new customer pricing. $40/45/50/100 for five years for the four speed tiers. As if I’d never even been a customer.
I haven’t attempted to order yet as I want my $101.15 bill sorted (they prorate unused portions of the service, don’t they?) before I try again. I’ll continue to use T-Mobile Home Internet that works quite well for my specific location. Just a slow upload, like before mid split when we had 42 at best.
I just don’t understand a company that only cares about new sign-ups and not saves of existing customers. Quarterly earnings reports, I guess.
