Meh. My back deck yesterday. We had more snow overnight. Life in the lee of the Great Lakes.

I bit the bullet last week and bought a new snowblower. The old one was 15 years old and although still works well, has wheels and requires a lot of pushing and shoving. I bought a tracked Honda 928CTD from my local farm equipment dealer. I was lucky to get it as they had none in stock but called Honda directly, who found one in the Honda warehouse in Markham. It may arrive by the end of the week.

Guy54435 First real snowfall in years. We had thick flakes here in Niagara but there was nothing about it that made travel treacherous and I wouldn't have called it a storm.

Unfortunately a lot of stores closed early on Sunday or didn't open at all so we missed out on grabbing some goods before today's holiday.

px_eliezer_ It's a strange day. Everything is closed but there is mail delivery. It's a provincial holiday, not a federal one.

px_eliezer_ had to work today. Also, my rotation, this would have been my 2nd regular day off (the first being Friday in this case). Double time -- I don't think I get any extra for the stat (other than being paid the stat at some point in the future). Can't stack double time on a stat, sadly.

Anyway, at work, got some wicked snow drifts at the one side of the building, about 12 feet. Never seen anything like it. Buffalo, NY can handle this type of crap, we can't.

I hope the older folks don't try to do too much removal on their own too quickly and end up in a bad way.

Guy54435 Watching the guy across the street struggle with his driveway yesterday was entertaining.... snow kept blowing into his garage and by the time he gave up he couldn't close his garage door.

For context - we're in a condo. We have a snow removal contract that covers all the walkways & driveways, in addition to the streets.

Also on the US side, President's Day is a Federal holiday, whereas the Canadian holiday is not.

mrweather I'm actually glad to be getting rid of that gas, as it was for a gas mower that I no longer have. I was at the limit, even with stabilizer.

ElQuintron I never, ever carry gas over a winter or summer. At the end of the season, when the mower or blower goes away, I dump the remaining fuel into the truck and buy fresh.

Imperial. My gas can has demarcations for 1 US gallon and 1.2 US gallons (1 Imperial gallon) when full.
