They approved only 200MHz of it being sold, out of the total 1,200MHz available.
So instead of 7 channels available, it would be reduced to 6 channels.
The US is pretty much the only country that gave it all to Wi-Fi. Europe and most other regions split it between cellular and Wi-Fi.
telcodad Yeah that 6 GHz Wi-Fi genie is out of the bottle now. Maybe some Wi-Fi 7 wireless routers could get a software update to remove some of the 6 GHz bans, but I bet the majority of those already in service will not.
If they do end up removing some of the spectrum, I bet every 6GHz router in use will get a forced software update to disable whatever channel they sell.
