Wave height forecasts for the Canadian portion of the Great Lakes
issued by Environment Canada at 3:00 a.m. EST Sunday 28 December 2025
for today tonight and Monday.
The next scheduled forecast will be issued at 10:30 a.m. EST.
Wave heights are for offshore and are forecast from trough to crest.
Nearshore waves may vary considerably due to shoreline effects.
Western Lake Superior.
Waves 0.5 to 1 metre building to 2 this evening and to 3 to 5
overnight.
Eastern Lake Superior.
Waves 2 metres subsiding to 1 this morning then building to 2 to 3
early this evening. Waves building to 5 to 7 overnight then subsiding
to 3 to 5 near noon Monday.
Whitefish Bay.
Waves 0.5 to 1 metre building to 1 to 1.5 overnight and to 2 to 3
Monday morning. Waves building to 3 to 4 Monday afternoon.
Northern Lake Huron.
Waves 0.5 to 1 metre building to 1.5 this evening and to 2 to 3
overnight. Waves building to 3 to 4 Monday morning and to 4 to 6
Monday afternoon.
Southern Lake Huron.
Waves 0.5 to 1 metre building to 1.5 overnight and to 3 to 4 Monday
morning. Waves building to 4 to 6 Monday afternoon.
Northern Georgian Bay.
Waves 0.5 to 1 metre building to 1 to 1.5 this evening and to 2 to 3
Monday morning. Waves building to 3 to 4 Monday afternoon.
Southern Georgian Bay.
Waves 0.5 to 1 metre building to 1 to 1.5 overnight and to 2 to 3
Monday morning. Waves building to 3 to 5 Monday evening.
Lake St. Clair.
Over open water waves 0.5 metres or less building to 0.5 to 1
overnight.
Western Lake Erie.
Over open water waves 0.5 to 1 metre building to 1 to 1.5 this
evening and to 3 to 4 Monday morning. Waves building to 4 to 6 near
noon Monday then subsiding to 3 to 4 Monday evening.
Eastern Lake Erie.
Waves 0.5 metres or less building to 1 to 1.5 this evening and to 3
to 5 overnight. Waves building to 5 to 7 near noon Monday.
