Discussion.

A strong low pressure system brought a plethora of precipitation
types across much of the province on Tuesday. Portions of southern
Ontario saw snow, ice pellets and several hours of freezing rain
followed by heavy rain and thunderstorms. This has resulted in
localized flooding across portions of southern Ontario. Across
northwestern Ontario, this system brought heavy snow and blizzard
like conditions for regions north of Lake Superior including the
Thunder Bay area.

The following is a summary of weather event information received by
Environment and Climate Change Canada.

LOL. We had someone with a minivan drive through another flooded section of road a few years back. Beer is not required for stupidity. The road gave out. Firetrucks had to be called.

A fast moving cold front will sweep through this afternoon bringing heavy snow, gusty winds, and falling temperatures.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

Expecting a rapid shift in weather here in the next 5 hours. It’s 10 and sunny right now, and was all day, it’s supposed to be -1 with heavy snow squalls and 5-10cm of snow starting before midnight. Hasn’t even started to cloud over right now - I grilled chops out on the bbq this evening when I got home it was so nice. Watching the squirrels play in the tree in the backyard right now.

Apparently its confused as the orange barrels of fun are up all over around here already and construction signs abound - showing up since the 1st of April every which way. Yet the snow continues to fall, the temperature was -8C this morning and the swamps and ponds were once again covered in ice. So apparently it’s winter and construction season now.

Hydraglass Some of the projects (ie Charlie Foxtrots) have been going on throughout the winter, progress was slow but still efficient enough to screw up traffic and generate congestion. Now that most of the snow is gone they have rolled out more of the construction barrels to intensify the agony.

Weekend looks good, I am going to rollout the BBQ and do burgers.
