We had to use a high gain antenna but could pick up a lot of stations. The directional part of the antenna was pointed southeast-ish.
It's been too many years to tell you about the antenna I have on the roof but here in St. Catharines I get all the Canadian stations (CBC, CTV, CHCH, CityTV, etc..) aside from CTV|2 which pixelates more than I'd like and we get the upper American stations like ABC, PBS, Fox, CW, etc., but we have issues with CBS (4) and don't even get NBC (2).
It wasn't a problem for the Super Bowl since that was on Fox this year but during the regular season we usually watch CTV (9) in Toronto unless it's a good day with CBS (4). I'd rather watch the US stations, their commercials are more amusing, funnier, better celebrity cameos.
Super annoying watching CBS, ABC, Fox, etc., on Canadian carriers because Canadian carriers often override events in a game with commercials, the sim-subbing isn't as smooth as they pretend it is. You watch "CBS" on Bell and it's a commercial about The Rookie on CTV but meanwhile CBS Buffalo has a game playing out.
