Oh it's still compressed, and with the lovely MPEG2 compression from 30 years ago! LOL. WUTV Fox Buffalo has two sub channels so the main channel has less bitrate than it normally would.

Sparky77 I started watched the Super Bowl on TSN1H on Rogers until the audio started screwing up badly. I then switched to TSN4H where the audio was working properly.

I didn't care for the half time show this year. The only thing that intrigued me was how they got that big American car up on the stage, I'm guessing a forklift.

I only care now and then, but generally, I just do not get people who want to watch every game, read every story, etc about any one sport nevermind all spots as some do. It is just not that interesting most of the time. I would rather play a sport than watch one any day.

I couldn't possibly care any less about any aspect of any professional "sport", so there is nothing to boycott. Quite frankly, I have better things to do, like visit my super bowl (a.k.a. the loo).

Watching a sport solo I completely agree. Couldn't care less. But as a group, different story. But then I'm more interested in the social aspect than the actual sport.

[deleted] Yep. Uncompressed 720p or 1080i is 2.33Gbps. Not happening OTA.

But it could be MPEG4 (h.264) for ATSC 1.0. That was added back in 2008.

ATSC 3.0 uses MPEG-H (h.265) and the OFDM modulation it uses can provide 20-55Mbps of bandwidth as opposed to the 19Mbps that the 8VSB of ATSC 1.0 could do. Way better than cable and streaming but still compressed. WUTV is ATSC 3.0 now.

I had an OTA antenna back in the old place (West GTA) and even with ATSC 1.0 it looked amazing.

Interesting, Tubi is available by regular means in Canada, but that coverage does not include the Super Bowl, hence the need for VPN.

For those who don't know, Tubi is owned by Fox.
