Updated LibreOffice!

Actually, even when “working” the internal updater is never accurate, always saying that the suite is up-to-date even when a new version is available for download on the website. I have no idea whether it can be updated internally, but I doubt it because as you know any update done with a download goes through a complete removal of the old and installation of the new. I would imagine that even when the internal updater is working it just directs you to the website for download, but again I’ve never been able to get it to give that option.

takeahike I will tell you this… I’ve never used the internal update mechanism in LibreOffice as a means to update LibreOffice.

I’m using a different program now, but having used LibreOffice for years, I always did a full download of the program manually.

I am waiting to 26.2.1, because I usually wait til the x.x.1 because usually fixes any oddities in a new release.

Looks like the update adviser is fixed, although as I previously mentioned it is kind of academic because usually it says up to date even when an update is on the website.

takeahike Has the file locking issue for documents/sheets/whatever been fixed for such things when they are from a network share? It’s a bug that has popped up before and appeared again with the last major revision. Its rather annoying to only be able to save a file once and then having to rename it every time one wishes to save it (suffice it breaks the auto save system too), and then have to go back and clean folders of the redundant files.

I’m sorry but I’m really not in a position to help with this as my network, if it can even be called that, consists only of sharing a couple of printers, and that is done just by plugging them into my router. As well, I don’t shared any files over it, so I wouldn’t have any similar experience to yours. Perhaps Dustyn can have more insight, so I have replied to him here as well. He is always very helpful and should see this reply in his notifications and should be back online this evening.

By the way, have you tried the latest version of OnlyOffice?
