Comcast/Xfinity Website Down

Is anyone having issues logging into their account on the web site? Username is input, select ’Let’s Go’, rotating line appears, then after five seconds or so, the same login page refreshes itself, not even prompted for password.

So just for fun, I went to the Comcast site with Chrome on my Mac. It also worked fine. So, since I was there, I checked on “change my speed”, just for fun, expecting no good offers. Instead, they offered me, a 24 year customer, the 1GB $50/month for five years with no contract plan!

I grabbed it quickly, and finished the sign-up. My modem rebooted, and speedtest now shows my speed at 1195/44.

Quagmire Thanks for the notification! I tried with Chrome on Mac and also got the new customer offers. It showed $50/month for gig but at the end said something about taking two hours. My modem rebooted and testing now shows over 1.1 gbps. When I go back in their web sit it has the $50/month in my cart with everything still showing my old speed. Hoping they don’t reverse this upgrade.

I do see part of the discount is only 24 months but I’ll take it.

I did get a confirming email with the new plan - did you?

I also see my old plan showing as my current plan. However, last March, I changed from $95/month 1.2Gbps to $70/month 1.1 Gbps plans. The old 1.2 plan showed in some places for up to two months after I made the change.

Just before posting, I went to

and now see the $50 plan as my current plan.

Quagmire I received an email confirmation about 15 minutes later. The app also updated about that time as now shows 1 Gbps. It just looks like their systems are slow to update.

Do your discounts show the $10 for 24 months on the order?

Lucky you, congrats on being able to get a deal. The Xfinity web site works ok for me using Firefox. But it doesn’t show any good deals for me. Shows regular rack rate price for the 300 & 500 Mbps plans. 1 Gig @ $85, and 2 Gig @ $115. I’m currently on the 1 year 300 Mbps @ $40, that I signed up about 6 months ago. I even tried to go down to the Xfinity store 2 months ago, they would not budge, and told me the promotions are for new customers only. Xfinity is the only hard wired internet provider in my neighborhood. Still waiting on AT&T fiber to come, if or when it happen in my lifetime Lol.

Well, I was pretty shocked when i saw the offer, since I was seeing the same offers as you prior to today.

I wonder if the fact that my current contract expires in a couple of weeks has something to do with it?

Last year I was also looking for better deals than my $95/month 1.2 Gbps deal. They offered nothing online until about a month before that contract expired, when i was able to go down to $70/month for 1.1 Gbps.

I just checked mine and I get the same new offer 1Gig for $50. The facts page says typical upload speeds 117Mbps but at final checkout it says upload will be 35Mbps. Looks like a tricky way to downgrade my upload speeds! I currently have 1000/100 service at $65.

DrSmith I would proceed anyway, doesn’t make any sense for the new plans to downgrade the upload speed here in 2026. The base upload speed on the plan is 35 Mbps, if the HFC plant and customer’s modem are mid-split capable and approved, then the modem will be provisioned for mid-split upload speeds automatically. (iHAT) The same goes for FDX, with provisioning for symmetrical speeds taking place if the node and customer’s modem are FDX capable (only FDX capable modem is the XB10) 35 Mbps is the base upload speed that the backend starts off with, because that is compatible with every HFC node and DOCSIS 3.0/ 3.1 modem in existence that is approved for use on the Comcast network.

hex0101 they seem to be heavily promoting that plan on Audacy and iHeart radio stations in Sacramento, California. I had thought the ads state only for new subscribers though but I could be mistaken.

Most of the fiber providers in the area charge around $50-$70 for synchronous gigabit Internet so it’s possible they are going to allow existing customer to upgrade for PR reasons (the ignorant non techy general public likely won’t look into the slower upload speeds on non FDX as they will just learn to associate the term “gig speed” as being the same as fibers synchronous gigabit offerings). It allows Comcast to compete on price without really having to compete.

Since my confirmation order looked strange I checked the web site and still was being shown the $50/1G offer. So I selected it again and went through the ordering process again. After another automated modem reboot my order now looks right without the 24 month wording, dropping the Flex box, and $2.50/month less in the estimate.

Their web site is horrendous. Whether it is a glitch or a new policy it is a good time to get the 5 year pricing.

HardlyWorthit Try the Chrome browser. I didn’t see the 5 year plans with either Firefox or Safari on my Mac. I do now see them on my iPad using Safari which surprised me.
