It is amazing that the hardware is good and fast and does tons of work, but is not “Worthy” to run W11.
So yes, Wife has a W10 PRO system that will continue on past EOL.
Kinda like my 3x W7-64 Systems, 2 of which work as fast as Wife’s W10 system , that due to hardware & software restraints, could not go past W7! All these systems stay at home.
We have put our Upgrade money into a good (locked down) router, with configurable firewall, and packet sniffer program to protect ALL SYSTEMS behind the router, tailoring more rules for older systems as needed, and that has worked for years on the W7-64 systems, so adding more rules on the W10 PRO system, just because M$ says “No Upgrade for You!” is not a concern here whatsoever! We use current phones outside of home, and they have current software/VPN protections., and remote access to NAS at home so data access is not an issue.
Now if the home systems were sluggish, or couldn’t do the work asked of them, as one old W7-64 laptop does…. yes, we’d consider buying a new system. But with a much more powerful laptop still flying through work without missing a beat, the older laptop is just re-allocated for WiFi spectrum evaluation, and other offline work, which it still CAN DO: so even when evaluating spectrum at neighbors house, or, capturing SDI/HDSDI Video……that old, tired W7-64 laptop has no need for web surfing, and so $$$ stays in my retired pocket!!! So…..
“What, Me Worry?”
