codezer0 Honda seems to think one quart per 1000 miles is OK as far as they are concerned. Look at the back of the engine and see if the gasket for the vtec solenoid is leaking, that and the valve cover are common issues. Ignore the crap about only changing the oil filter every 10k, not a good idea, change it with every oil change and your engine will last longer, but if you do this service yourself you certainly will also grow to resent the placement of the oil filter real quick too. I find that synth oil, particularly Mobil One tends to "vanish" more so than others, if it leaks out or burns up I am not sure but it's no longer in the crankcase.
IMHO it's cheaper to top up with oil than rebuild an engine, so go with that. 😉
Your clutch will fail, at that age I would expect it has, keep up with the other fluid changes, the fluid in the clutch system can get really dirty, if this is a new to you car I would replace all the fluids, oil, tranny fluid - get the right manual fluid, its thicker than auto tranny fluid), Power steering and brake (clutch fluid is brake fluid in this model).
Easy thing to do is a compression test, if you are in the US some of the auto parts stores rent or lend tools, a compression test is easy to do plus you can inspect the spark plugs (I think they are to be changed every 100k so yours should only be 1/5 of the way through their life - if they had been changed). If you can get an inspection camera have a look inside, some have a mirror attachment so you can loop up at the valves.
Something else, if you have the US model you can upgrade the washer tank to the canuck one, its larger (about twice the size) and has a low level indicator (you may have to run some wiring back to the fuse block brain thing by the drivers side if you want the dash light to light up - It does mean removing the front bumper cover however). The US visors are an issue too, if yours are limp see if you can source ones from an canadian car.
