I hear ya! It was not so much the autopay credit I was looking for. It is the 4% on Gas, Groceries, Walmart & Target. There are no free cards (meaning no annual fee) out there that give that much back.
But, I did get a callback this morning and the rep was very helpful. He credited me my $5 discount back for this Month and explained what happened. While you CAN get the Verizon Visa card with Fios, you MUST have Verizon Wireless to get the autopay discount. Would be nice if this was in writing somewhere I could find!
I only have Verizon FiOS and I still get the $10 Auto-pay discount. When I signed up for the Verizon VISA is specifically said that you needed either Verizon Wireless or FiOS to get the auto pay discount. And the info on the Verizon site also said the same thing. There was no requirement to just have Verizon WIreless to get the discount.
Unless they changed things in the last few months?

New enrollees to Verizon’s Auto Pay can get up to $10/mo off each eligible wireless phone line, up to 12 lines max (depending on plan) and/or $10/mo off each eligible Fios service.
So it does still show the discount for FiOS service.
I switched mine from the auto debit from my checking account to the Verizon VISA to keep receiving the $10 off each month. Plus, I also get $10 off from the Deals at Work discount.
