[DVR] Motorola 7232 being phased out

Josephine Our installer said to unplug the box and plug it back in if we had trouble (that didn’t fix the trouble we were having with those channels though). Is that a hard reset?

It’s sort of depends on what the piece of equipment is but in this case I meant I hit the reset button in the back.

We got a different installer today. He was amazed at how old the original one was. He said the new one is boosting the signal. All the green says good.

Old boxes are putting HD on SD channels. Get it on two of them the third only has composite connection.

Got another warning to change boxes. Getting close.

Wife’s hairdresser was telling her about her install problems. She asked for help. A tech roll is $90, I thought it was free. Anyway, she got phone help. First person was completely not speaking English. She asked for someone else. She was then asked to use her cell phone camera to show the person what she had and what she was doing. It took 1.5 hours but they got it running. I was impressed by her and whoever was helping her on the phone.

I would have sworn that they said they would do the install back when all this started. 🤔

There wasn’t a fee for installation for me…

I see they messed up our bill a bit though (sigh). Now charging us for the old free digital adapters.
We returned the 2 new, unused boxes plus all of the old stuff via UPS (and I kept the receipt) except for the adapters. An agent online told me they wouldn’t work while installer # 1 insisted that they would. Since the old equipment wasn’t really required to be returned coupled with how the adapters are free for as long as we live at the same address and have service with Verizon I figured there was only 1 way to find out and the only thing it would cost me is time. But I thought the time spent would just involve hooking up an adapter to a TV. Didn’t realize it would also involve dealing with Verizon again. 🙄

Not really. It’s still wide width from ch 3-50

It’s letting me record but gives me a message to change to the new system.

2 of the 3 TVs are on the new mini boxes.

Letting the 3rd one work so I can see what’s happening 😃 It’s all set up to for the new box, though. The techie in me has to play around with things.

VMS4100ATV - Things are working well but the manufacturer Arris claims it has 6 tuners for doing multiple recordings simultaneously…..however tonight I was recording 2 programs on different channels and I received the “warning - channel conflict” and it basically told me I could switch to another channel but it would terminate one of the recordings, boiling this down - I’m only allowed to record 2 programs simultaneously and if I switch to another channel……it stops one of them from recording. What happened to the other 4 available tuners? I guess Verizon has it blocked.

DWDM You used to have to pay extra for anything more than two tuners. I forgot what it was called. Call Verizon and ask.

DWDM I found it, there are two DVR options. Standard DVR which only records two channels, and Enhanced DVR service which records six. Do you have the Enhanced DVR on your payment plan?

Sparkchaser Only 1 TV but on rare occasions we are recording 2 shows and want to watch something else - but that something else is linked to my fios account (Like HGTV as an example) so we can just switch to “Feed 2” and use the streaming to watch something.

Scotty I don’t recall ever seeing that specific terminology on my account summary. Hmmmm, not worth it if they are going to charge me more…lol, we are on the brink of maybe dropping TV altogether and just going with our Apple TV and internet only from Verizon. I am gojng to look at my bill online/account info and will report back my findings….

I have regular DVR service for $12 a month. I’ll stick with that..
