Donoreo I was pleasantly surprised to see how little we used US sourced products as we went through our groceries and shelves. I honestly thought it would be a lot of stuff - but our apples were from BC (maybe grown by yoyo?), cheese was Parmalat (Black Diamond - which was historically from Belleville) made in Canada, Yogurt was Gay Lee, also Canadian, eggs are from Burn Brae in Brockville, potatoes were product of Ontario, our beef and chicken were both products of Ontario, crackers were Christie from Canada, milk is from Ontario, pasta (Unico) from Ontario, butter (Gay Lee) is from Canada, bread is from Ontario, pork chops were from Alberta, carrots were Canadian, canned tomatoes were Canadian (unico), ketchup and mustard are French's, SO - what was from the US - green onions, lettuce, spinach, bagged salad(Tanamura and Antle), peaches, frozen lunches (Crave), chocolate bars (feastables), and salad dressing (Kraft).
So from that list - we'd be hard pressed to get local canadian lettuce and salads at reasonable prices - especially this time of year - they would be greenhouse and probably pricy and hard to find. We can live without green onions and peaches and chocolate bars, and I'm sure we could find a local salad dressing of some sort.
