Heat84 Who’s dumb idea was it to have a movie named Alien and another movie named Aliens? It was made worse by them coming out at around the same time. How are you supposed to tell them apart?
They are very different movies, very easy to tell apart. Show me a 10-second clip and I could tell you which one it is.
- Alien was released in 1979 and was about a single Alien, with most scenes on a spaceship. It was also more horror oriented.
- Aliens was released 7 years later in 1986 and was about multiple Aliens, with most scenes on a planet. It was action oriented.
Alien: Earth is a blend of styles between the two, with props and sets modeled after both. I enjoyed the first 2 episodes released so far.
The 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike occurred between the initial filming of episode 1 and the later filming of episode 1 and 2, which some may feel led to a somewhat disjointed quality between the 2 separate plot lines. They were being blended by the 2nd half of the 2nd episode.
These 8-10 episode shows are movie like productions with plots spread out over 8-10 hours.
