Back on February 2 the "dslreports.com Unavailable" message implied users returning during the first 5 minutes could initiate a takeout request. I did so on two separate days, but it never completed, i.e. message kept saying 0% complete and never got an IM from System that it was ready. Oh well, it was worth a shot. Now the "Unavailable" message no longer mentions takeout.

PaulBunyan I tried a takeout request prior to the actual shutdown with the same results of 0%. So, I tired again and it told me a request had already been made but it never generated a file. I suspect it was probably broken like the search function, speed tests, etc.

One of the icons on the mini-bar was for Takeout Requests. Theoretically, it would allow you to export all your contributions made to the site.

( Mine only shows "fav forum" envelope, "updated posts" start, & gear for "edit",
followed by "updates paused" when outside access time-frame. )

Somewhat-Reticent But making new posts doesn't help archiving the existing content, on the contrary. OTOH if DSLR can stay up as read-only that would be great.

There's no point in DSLR staying up as read-only as long as it's only available from :55 to :05 of each hour.
