Charlotte weather update - all Saturday on-track activities have been canceled: https://www.nascar.com/news-media/2026/10/10/charlotte-weather-updates/

All on-track activities for Saturday at Charlotte Motor Speedway have been canceled due to inclement weather, NASCAR officials announced Saturday morning.

The Blue Cross NC 300, the fifth of nine Chase presented by Mobil 1 races in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, will now take place Sunday at 8 p.m. ET (The CW, ESPN Unlimited, PRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) following the NASCAR Cup Series race. The race was originally slated for a 4 p.m. ET green flag Saturday.

Cup Series practice and qualifying were washed out after a Friday announcement moved practice to 11 a.m. ET and qualifying to 12:05 p.m. ET, two hours earlier than originally scheduled. It is the fourth time in six Chase races that the lineup will be set via the NASCAR Rule Book. Sunday’s Cup race remains scheduled for 3 p.m.

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7685423/2026/10/13/dodge-nascar-cup-series-return-2027

Dodge is very close to finalizing a return to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2027, multiple people briefed on the situation but not authorized to speak publicly have told The Athletic.

Negotiations are still ongoing and hurdles remain, those people said, but all parties involved believe Dodge is on track to be the fourth manufacturer on the grid for the season-opening Daytona 500 on Feb. 21. Stellantis, Dodge’s parent company, has already begun making plans to announce its return to Cup for the first time in over a decade.

Kaulig Racing, which currently fields two Chevrolets in the Cup Series, is expected to switch to Dodge, per the report. Kaulig Racing uses Ram Trucks in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and Ram Trucks and Dodge are both owned by the parent company Stellantis North America.

NASCAR announced Wednesday that officials will allow Cup Series teams to replace front brake pads and rotors after practice and qualifying beginning at Phoenix Raceway this weekend.

The updated procedure comes a month after World Wide Technology Raceway — a flat, heavy-braking oval similar to Phoenix — where multiple Cup cars suffered brake failures during the Enjoy Illinois 300 on Sept. 13.
