No question what the title is; and obviously, some people among us need not bother to read the body of the messages since they can know everything by just looking at the title.
They also never need to think whether there is a rational reason to remove a socket. Sockets don’t usually go bad, and parts in sockets can be replaced much-much easier than soldered parts. I have seen recommendations to install sockets and then just plug the DIP chips into said sockets, but not the other way around.

And then you find out that the place has a several hundred dollars minimum order for a $2 part.
