urbanriot OzarkEdge I find that ‘new channels’ usually means more crappy programming and commercials…
I disagree, here in Western New York we received a pile of stations like Grit, True Crime, Comet, and a station which has Pawn Stars and Storage Wars which I find myself stuck on more often than not.
I was speaking of my experience in my TV market… in many TV markets… not your TV market experience and not what you like to watch on your TV.
OzarkEdge We need ATSC3.0! sooner than later
Why do you believe that? What will that do to fix your perception of “crappy programming and commercials”?
I was proposing a premise… a hope (with concerns that you did not quote) for bailing out a legacy communication medium that like many others is struggling to survive in the Internet age. If not new Internet-enabled ATSCx.x technology, then I don’t know what will save broadcast TV.
I did not mean to suggest that anything would necessarily fix the crappy programming and commercials that many obviously like to watch.
As for my perception of what I feel are crappy programs and commercials, that is for me to decide for myself. Crappy programming and commercials will not end with improvements to broadcast televison technology… low IQ content is ubiquitous (not just on OTA TV) and getting worse because it sells… it’s cheap to produce and appeals to the masses.
