I just put an address into comcasts website that was labeled to be fiber serviceable on the FCC map, and to my surprise it gave plans up to 2 gig symmetrical with 5ms ping on the broadband label. For the longest time I thought this was capped at 1 gig symmetrical due to the need for the XB8, maybe they are using an xb10 for this now? Or maybe better, the XER10? I haven’t seen much about this device or even the service yet so I’m skeptical. Pretty cool though.

bigcoda Oh interesting! i guess it’s been awhile since i’ve checked the official device info, haha. I didn’t know these actually got released already. I wonder how many people have actually gotten them.

satyr Thanks for this! HAHAHAH.. that would explain why I don’t have it available! Interesting they’d go all the way to Shoreline but not branch over here.

I haven’t seen a Comcast truck in ages, so I doubt we are anywhere close to having it on the west side.

Another thing, on that map of the Seattle area, some of those honeycombs state there’s only 1% coverage, so visually that’s VERY misleading

I recently looked at he map and it seem some of the area I live in has mid split. Well at least a neighborhood over from mine is partially has it. It’s at least a step in the right direction. Not sure when Ill get it AND if Ill go back to post paid.

bigcoda Bunch of FDX upgrades done in the Sacramento, California metro area too. The map basically stops at the Sacramento/Placer County border to the north and I know they have since been doing some work past that line in Roseville, CA. I’d image the red area will quickly expand all around the edges and more into the city of Sacramento’s downtown core itself.

How can you filter by FDX locations in the FCC broadband map? All I can do is filter by mid-split.

Use the Providers Search functionality instead of Location Search on the Home Page of the FCC Broadband Map
Select Add Provider- Type in Comcast
Select Technology- Cable
Select Search Filters
Set your Speed- 2000/2000, then press enter.

My brother lives in the older part of Roseville, where they were stuck on Sub-Split until this year. I know they upgraded his neighborhood to Mid-Split, but I don’t know if they installed the FDX amps for DOCSIS 4. Lol, his only other hardwired internet provider available in his neighborhoods, is Consolidated Communications through a copper phone line.

Looks like one small part in Kansas City metro near Blue Springs has FDX active.

bigcoda yeah I have same problem with Consolidated stuck with copper. I’m in the Diamond Oaks neighborhood of central Roseville and we got mid-split installed Oct 2024 with Arris mb120 starstream amps.

The only location I know for sure with FDX atm is the Pleasant Grove and Foothills neighborhood as they recently went through there for a second round of upgrades by replacing the top lids on the very same Starline amps with upgraded modules. Then I’ve heard from few others that they’ve been some similar work in West Roseville as well.

Edit I should also mention what’s crazy is there are areas of Roseville staying Sub-split (Sun City) for awhile. So you’ll have a mix of FDX, Mid-Split, and Sub-split hardware all within the same suburb.
