Devious Very few use cases for POP3 but it does have it use cases (used it a long time ago for work email which had very limited storage space per mailbox on the server). IMAP syncs my email across devices and leaves the email on the server. Multi-device seamless email is a must have for me, and no risks of losing email messages if my client device stops working entirely or is lost/stolen. My phone quit working after 3 years 10 months, logic board needs a re-ball. For now it just boot-loops unless it is cold enough (put in the freezer for temporary revival, allowed for data recovery).
