Anyone have a copy of the DSLR (or otherwise) list of HighSplit locations and phasing? Bonus if it also has the status's of each.

I suspect they are adding OFDMA signals sub 42MHz in areas with high utilization that allows them to increase capacity so a 50Mbps upload is possible.

I have a Spectrum Business account and I didn’t know that they have changed upload speeds, at least in my area.

I did some tests and it appears that either my account has not been targeted for the speed upgrades or my area has not been enabled yet.

Added to that, it is amusing at how Spectrum’s own employees had no idea about the speed upgrade, with the support rep telling me that 35 is the max upload speed capable on Spectrum’s network.

Regardless, I maxed out my upload connection uploading some files to a remote server on a 500/500 connection and the max I was getting 35mbps from my Spectrum Account.

dan1431 These news speeds are distinct plans vs just changes/uplifts on the existing ones. You’ll have to call in to switch over, or they may eventually reach out and call you.

Residential is getting high-split speed lifts for free when a global reboot happens at the CMTS level but I would suspect business class is different as they likely call mentioning a speed lift option and will have a tech come out and replace the modem or router as needed as the pricing plans could change as well.

“Business Class” (whatever that means for the operators and the businesses) typically require a change in contracted HSI plan(s). I don’t know what the new plan pricing is across the footprint, but something for nothing is rarely in the contracts.

Noticing North Texas is slowing down on activating high-split speeds. Last I have seen is 3 communities in southern Dallas county in the 10 series hubs went live about two weeks ago.

They are down to pockets being upgraded. probably about 60-80% activated in North Texas now. I also suspect 2gig will launch in the fall.

smccloud Conspiracy theory much? You’ll get it. It just takes time. I live in rural are and I already have Verizon 5G Home as an option and TEC fiber is planning on offering service here. So if Charter wants to maintain customers they’ll have no choice but to improve

So on the slowdown, I think its more finance and technology. Has anywhere been turned up with Phase ⅔ tech? I think they are finishing phase 1 rollouts and thats it. Dunno if its because they cant source the tech still for phase 2 or get it working large scale or what. Or they are realizing how much it costs and content to just accept the captive subscribers without fiber…

Not_Sure Not a conspiracy theory, more like a realist. Why compete when the current administration has proven during their last tenure they do not care about Internet access and competition?

I believe there is a lead time before they offer the speeds. Upgrade the nodes, amplifiers and any passives that need to be swapped -> checked off for completion -> Activate OFDMA channels -> enable the billing codes and reset the modems connected to the CMTS globally to offer the speeds.

It took over a year for my hub to go live with the speeds. They were upgrading my neighborhood in July of ’23 and speeds launched 8/6/24.

I suspect there is a large potion of DFW upgraded just waiting for the billing codes and OFDMA may already be live in these areas.

Loading billing codes should take 5 minutes. It’s something that’s done often and should be considered core functionality. If that’s hard for them, they have big problems.

Telling shareholders they lost customers because they were waiting for billing codes to load….yeah no.

geek They don’t activate the billing codes the moment they add the OFDMA channels is they make sure the channels are clean of noise etc.

That’s fair. I was trying to point out that the loading/activation of new codes shouldn’t be a reason for any type of delay. Field/plant work…. that’s the long pole.

geek they actually have turned on the speeds in the last hub in my city today that didn’t have symmetrical speeds. I didn’t see any other activations in North Texas.

Not_Sure They have made so many empty promises about it, like how it was supposed to be done by now, and no updates at all. The only competition they have in most of the town I live in is 100/15 DSL so they have no incentive to upgrade us.

smccloud There are no empty promises. Also nowhere did they ever say it would be done by q1 2025. They originally said by the END of 2025 now it’s the end of 2026. Have there been delays? Yes. That happens with nearly EVERY infrastructure project. Welcome to the real world. You do realize on the last year they have to deal with hurricanes and wildfire repairs.

Not_Sure by Q1 of 2025 I’m saying what reps told me for a completion date for my area. Now it’s radio silence. If I did the same thing in my job (which is IT for a small company), I’d lose it in a heartbeat.
