Not much movement since the Node and Amp replacements in my neighborhood. My market is now listed as “Not yet enabled” on the Charter Community High Split post.
What I have found out is that Spectrum is still busy trying to replace/install new Fiber and new nodes, despite this new “Not yet enabled” status. One of my relatives has been getting visits from Spectrum and their contractors over the last few weeks in order to work on cable inside of underground conduit on their property. Their neighborhood is on the older side, and according to one of the Spectrum techs, apparently there are problems with the existing Fiber for the node serving their neighborhood. I don’t believe that, but I suspect they are more or less adding additional nodes or increasing the logical splits from 2 to 4, and need more Fiber.
I’ve seen a lot more 30 second outages lately, happening at random hours of the day or night. Usually one a week. A couple nights ago I also observed a 15 minute maintenance which knocked out many circuits around town. I was hoping that outage would coincide with an upload speed bump, but nope 🙁
