Not_Sure Look you can’t sue your own modem there are ZERO commercial modems that can use hi-split.
Not true, there are a few that support high-split now.
But either way, DOCSIS 3.0 and 3.1 modems continue to work just fine in high-split areas.
Comcast allows you to bring your own modem in their DOCSIS 4.0 areas, you just don’t get the faster speeds.
Although they did mention that high-split upload will eventually be supported on 3.1 modems in their 4.0 areas.
Not_Sure No amount of complaining to the FCC will change anything.
It’s their own rule, which Charter has violated before and been fined for breaking.
The FCC certainly does care, and they were very interested in my report to them.
I got an email almost immediately from Charter’s executive response team after they were contacted by the FCC.
If the FCC thinks the requirement no longer makes sense, they can certainly remove it if they want to.

I talk about Comcast often because some of my family (in other areas) have Comcast, which I set them up with. They’re in California, Delaware, Florida, and Massachusetts.
MacLeech he’s argued previously for using the free Charter supplied modem.
That doesn’t mean they should be allowed to break FCC rules.
If the rule no longer makes sense, the FCC should remove the rule. Instead of just breaking rules you don’t like.
