GrumpyCanadian do you really believe that would get him out of Gaza, Lebanon or Syria? Do you really think he would deal with Palestinians fairly and in good faith?
Fair question and one that’s not easy to answer.
Israel really pushed their luck with their recent shenanigans and regardless of where people stand, it’s safe to say that everyone can acknowledge that global sentiments are no longer as rosy towards them as they were in the past. We were all horrified when Hamas gunmen murdered a couple hundred innocent ravers and Israel had tepid support for vengeance. But then they used that latitude to go on an absolute murdering spree and the people were not so happy with the deaths of so many innocent civilians on the other side.
So they wanted to invade Iran to take out their alleged nuclear program. Okay, well, Trump took care of that so you’re done there. Now what? I truly believe the leaders of the G7 would not abide by further attacks by Israel of Iran unless there was conclusive proof they still had a nuclear program and I’m extremely confident the G20 would not abide.
A lot of this depends on Iran as well, what are they going to do? They could engage in reciprocal attacks and as a result they’d be giving Israel a green light to maintain their campaign.
At the end of the day if you had foreign powers bombing your country and one of them said they had no intention to stop, what would you do? I have a feeling that Iran is going to try and defend themselves with a counter offense and in return Israel is going to keep up the attack.
Iran doesn’t stand a chance with a one-on-one attack against an Israel backed by the world superpower known as USA so they may have to fight back by other means, like closing the Strait of Hormuz and seeding it with mines.
None of this is good and I do believe that Israel is going to try to draw this into an extended war… let’s see if Congress allows it.
