No, that is most emphatically not what I am saying at all! I am saying that an offer of help to the people of Iran, to accomplish what they want for themselves would be preferable to what Israel is doing now, and only if the Iranian people were to consent to his involvement. As far as I’m concerned, he has absolutely no right to be there at all otherwise, regardless of the manufactured Israeli pretext (sounding familiar yet?). The presence of Israeli spies, jets, bombs, etc. is effectively an invasion and/or declaration of war, just as Iran has said, and that does not present any positives for anyone.

I never said that he was there to liberate them. If you’re asking me, I insist that they should not be there at all, and have no right to be there. However, as @px_eliezer_ just reminded you, it is Binyamin who is pressing for them to revolt, claiming that they have a historic opportunity — thanks to Israel — to “reclaim their freedom”, etc. He is the one singing those overtures, not I.
The fact that nobody disputes is that Israel has been agitating for an invasion of Iran for at least 22 years. They were not happy when the international nuclear treaty was signed during the Obama era, especially since all evidence pointed to Iranian compliance. It wasn’t until someone put the bee in President 45’s bonnet to unilaterally withdraw from the accord that things took a turn for the worst, ultimately giving Israel back a glimmer of its desired pretext for action. With the ongoing talks between the U.S. and Iran, there was some possibility (however remote) that Iran would be coaxed back into compliance, and the pretext would again be gone. To pre-empt that possibility, they decided that they “had to” strike before the next round of talks resumed, and that brings us to the present discussion. I only hope that there is someone smart and mature enough to convince President 47 not to get involved, before we end up with a major mess on our hands.
Anything more I could add would be more political, and this discussion is too important to take any more risks of getting it locked, so I will shut up (for now, at least).
