That ultimately depends how you define “good for the world” and “bad for the world”. If the purported goal is to deliver peace and security in Israel, this does not advance that cause. Regardless of what anyone may think of the Iranians, violating the airspace of other sovereign countries, disregarding international and humanitarian law (again!), taking it upon yourself to destroy property in another country and assassinate its nationals is not the way to bring about peace, no matter how you claim to justify it, and no matter your definition of “peace”.
Other countries in the area have released statements, and are understandably not happy about this. I can’t imagine how this leads to a better place. If Iran really wasn’t aggressively pursuing the development of nuclear weapons before, they are almost guaranteed to do so now, whether Binyamin likes it or not, and whether he offers his permission for them to have that technology or not.
Such adversaries can be surprisingly patient and calculating. If there wasn’t so much of a need before, I’d be very worried now, if I were in that part of the world. They tend to understand a relevant quote very well: “Revenge is a dish best served cold!”. I have an unsettling feeling that the current missile attacks are just a preview of what is ultimately to come.
The most intelligent question for everyone to be asking right now is: how on Earth do we de-escalate this situation, before it leads to something nobody wants or asked for, and that will benefit absolutely no one?
