So correct me if I am wrong You can’t just change only the Bulb from Incandescent to LED or Quartz that is illegal but a complete sealed assembled and designed specifically as an LED or Quartz Head Light system is legal.

True:

Then the vehicle owners ask, “Why is my vehicle throwing these error codes?” because the new headlights are messing up their vehicle electrical systems.

I did not buy them for the Cool Look with Aging Night Vision Decreases and thus brighter and Blue tinted lights are needed to off set that age related impairment and prior to this new MA regulation I required that the LED lights were DOT approved. For me it was a safety and construction design factor
Florida and many states do not enforce the required DOT regulation for headlights because its a federal mandate. I will be driving in MA on occasion. Headlights above come with fully approved DOT documentation

That’s not quite what the law is referring to, it goes after headlamps with permanent reflectors and replaceable bulbs, the bulbs have a reflector mounted to the top which reflects the light from the filament rearward at the reflector which reflects the light forward in a designed pattern, the aftermarket led’s do not aim the light properly at the reflector creating reflections where they should not be aimed, such as too high and into the eyes of oncoming drivers.

That law should also apply to motorcycles. The current trend around here is to install those square LED headlights that blind oncoming drivers.

HFB1217 Certification could be fake. Manufacturers have OEM for a reason. If your vision is declining, get it checked and don’t drive at night.

For your information I have annual Eye Exams and adjustments to my Glasses if needed,
My eyes are fine just getting older and as for Brighter LED lights DOT certifications are mandatory for my use, its mandatory and must be verifiable by me as a DOT certified LED Headlights and that they have passed the same evaluations as the OEM ones aimed corectly with the proper cutoff patterns.
I too have objections to badly aligned and poor designs used in many aftermarket headlights.
As a recommendation my Eye Doctor after a through successful and clearanced exam recommended to use Legal Certified replacement LED Headlight Assemblies. The Blue Tint is seen better at night for the aging eyes.
The other Legal option is auxiliary Driving Lights and if you think LED’s are badly Glaring these make them to be like candles even the certified ones and can be up to a staggering 150 Watt bulb while regular bulb wattages are at 55 watts lowbeam or Fog/Driving lights and 65 watt highbeam.
I owned an Sports Car auto parts store with a specialty for Lights add-ons for modifications to legal light uses Only in the late 70’s to mid 80’s,

The blue tint is a compromise between the low K of incandescent and high K of 6500k led’s.

I would suggest you try the higher 6500K, led’s I think you will find even better than the blue tint ones which are commonly lower in lumens.

I could not convert the headlights on my truck to LED’s as there no legal LEDs on the market for a reflector housing headlight so I went with Xenon, it was expensive but well worth the money.

I wish they would ban the brite bluish lights on the fronts of cars. I have an issue with one eye as it is and being blinded by glarish oncoming headlights is Unsafe.

Splitpair Or not. I have other things to do that make it unnecessary to go out at night. Our MTO strictly limits lighting to existing manufacturers lights on a vehicle. I also keep my eyes in good health.

Very true these headlights are if the 6500K variety the Blue Tint was the Doctor’s choice.
