I’ve watched contractors splice those cases in similar rooms at our sites from contractors working for Comcast, Verizon, Windstream and Crown Castle. The fusion splicers are really neat.
Those red boxes could be ASI video to IP bridge or cherry pickers, but basically yeah they have to do with video.
I always wanted a field trip of the headend. Service Electric gives tours to Sun Technical Institute students in those career tracks but yeah all we got were like to the museum, planetarium, farms and orchards. No telco or cable operator.
Thankfully working in IT, I have a badge and retina scan on file to access two regional DC’s. I’m sure what I see and hear in there is similar to a cable headend, just different equipment in the racks.
